iCarsoft, Shiftech's take on multi-make diagnostic cases
At Shiftech, every vehicle that enters our workshop goes through an essential stage: diagnostics. Whether it's for after-sales service, logging or fault detection, diagnostic tools are essential to our daily work. Thanks to our partner iCarsoft, we had the opportunity to test several diagnostic cases to assess their real added value. Here's our feedback.

Contents of the case
The case contains the tablet, an intelligent VCI dongle, a set of OBD cables, a digital inspection camera and a thermal printer. Each accessory has been designed to facilitate diagnosis in the workshop or directly on site.

During our test, the process took place in several simple steps:
- Connection of the tablet to the vehicle via the VCI dongle.
- Automatic vehicle identification using Auto VIN technology.
- Intelligent diagnostics that quickly detected any faults. The CR Unicorn's powerful hardware enabled rapid, accurate diagnosis, outperforming other, often less powerful, tablets.
ICarsoft endoscopic camera
To evaluate the camera, we used it on a turbo. The image quality proved excellent for inspecting the interior of components. One drawback, however, was the inability to control the camera remotely. On the other hand, the video recording function remains a major asset.

With the CR Ultra, the diagnosis of our BMW M2 was smooth and complete. After installing the dongle, we had access to all the data we needed to work efficiently. A special mention goes to the dongle, which can be stored and recharged directly behind the tablet, so there's no risk of it getting lost.
